Bikram Hot Yoga – The Benefits of Bikram

Bikram hot yoga was a system designed by Bikram Choudhury in the 1970′s that is based on hatha yoga traditions. Bikram’s classes are designed to run for exactly 90 minutes and work through a set of 26 postures and 2 breathing techniques but there are numerous variations under the more commonly known term “hot yoga”. The temperature in the room for Bikram hot yoga is ideal at 105°F (40.6°C) with a humidity of 40% and is the most popular form of hot yoga (hence the name).
Bikram hot yoga provides many benefits. Bikram designed the yoga session to be performed in a heated room so that practitioners could get into postures more deeply and effectively. Practicing yoga in a heated area creates a satisfying and almost addictive feeling of achievement.
The benefits of Bikram hot yoga are many:

-The heated environment produces deep stretching that allows for a far greater range of motion in your muscles, jointsa and ligaments.
